DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has expanded its flight services to Italy to meet rising international travel demands. According to the Emirates News Agency, flydubai is boosting its Italian operations with more flight options across key commercial hubs. Starting July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double-daily flights from Dubai to Milan-Bergamo. It will also increase its presence in Naples with daily round-trip services.

This schedule increase broadens flydubai’s overall reach in Italy. The airline currently operates three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and offers twice-weekly seasonal summer flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia through August’s end. Additionally, changes are in place due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Between November 1 and November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its Dubai International Airport service to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport. Flights to Naples will resume on December 1, 2026. Existing bookings will be automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.
Codeshare Partnership Enhances Travel Ease Through Dubai Hub
The new routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples operate under flydubai’s established codeshare agreement with Emirates. This partnership provides passengers with seamless travel options, unified ticketing, coordinated schedules, and through-checked baggage across both airlines. Travelers benefit from access to a wide network via Dubai. They can connect easily to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East including Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.
The capacity growth aligns with wider travel trends in the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger volumes are steadily rising post-pandemic. Increased flights support growing trade, investments, and tourism between the UAE and Italy. The additional twice-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo offer more seats for business travelers heading to Italy’s financial hubs. Daily flights to Southern Italy help meet rising seasonal tourist demand along the Amalfi Coast’s historic sites.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, commented on the expansion. He said that Naples and Milan are now key gateways within the airline’s European network. Al Ghaith emphasized that the focus remains on maintaining regional access while committing to better connectivity for underserved markets. He added that data shows flydubai’s Italian operations are growing with new frequencies to accommodate increasing passenger flow between the UAE and Italy as the winter travel season approaches.
Regional Airports Provide Direct Access for Travelers
Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, highlighted the importance of the expanded routes to Naples and Milan-Bergamo. He said that direct flights are vital for Italy’s market. Efendi noted that non-stop services allow international travelers to use flydubai and Emirates’ combined network to reach global destinations via Dubai. The airline’s teams are ready to manage the increased flight operations, ensuring reliable service for both passengers and cargo.
These operational upgrades reflect flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and global network development. As the airline adds more modern narrow-body aircraft, it plans further frequency increases on high-demand European routes. The Italian schedule growth underlines Dubai’s role as a major aviation hub, enabling efficient passenger and freight movement between Europe and destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
